It is the southernmost province of the country, sharing sea borders with the Malaysian state of Sabah and the Indonesian North Kalimantan province, both on the island of Borneo to the west. To the northeast lies the province of Sulu. With its incredible natural beauty, fascinating cultures, rich crafts tradition and vibrant marine ecosystems, Tawi-Tawi is a true jewel of the Philippines and of the Coral Triangle as a whole. Perhaps in the future there will be opportunities for ecotourism and the development of sutsainable blue economies.
